Nintendo has recently published a new trailer for the upcoming video game Pikmin 4, which showcases a new creative mechanism for players to enjoy.
Pikmin is a popular real-time strategy and puzzle video game series created by Shigeru Miyamoto and distributed by Nintendo. Players would interact with these plant-like creatures known as Pikmin, who would do all of the work for them such as picking up objects, eliminating obstacles, avoiding hazards, and killing monsters that stood in their way. Pikmin 4 was introduced at a Nintendo Direct Presentation last year, and now a new teaser has been uncovered displaying a new system to enjoy.
“Captain Olimar and the Rescue Corps have crash-landed on a mysterious planet, and only YOU can save them!” claims the trailer’s description. “Rise to the occasion, brave explorer, and set out!”
Pikmin 4 Character Creation System
Pikmin 4 now has a character creation mechanism, as demonstrated in the latest teaser. Players can construct their own characters using the minimal options available in the game for face, body type, gender, attire, and more. Based on the trailer, it isn’t very thorough, but players may now choose and customize the characters they will play in the game.
The Amusing Story Behind Captain Olimar’s Crash Landing
The trailer also explains why Captain Olimar and the Rescue Corps crash-landed and became stranded on this alien world. Captain Olimar was confirmed to explore this planet, but his ship crashes down on it. The Rescue Corps then followed, but for some strange reason, their ship also crashes lands on the planet. It is now up to the novice (You) to save them from this position.
Pikmin 4 will be released for Nintendo Switch exclusively on July 31, 2023.
