Ed Boon, the co-creator of Mortal Kombat, has released new information regarding Mortal Kombat 1, concentrating on the game’s potential return of fighters.
After Mortal Kombat 1’s major announcement, fans have been rushing to learn everything they can before NetherRealm Studios releases the game’s first gameplay trailer at Summer Game Fest. Interestingly, they mention Ed Boon, the co-creator, as their information source. Ed Boon has recently been tweeting a lot of tease “bombs” on his account. This most recent one may be able to provide fans with an idea of who will be joining the roster again.
Mortal Kombat 1 New Tease Hints New Character
Another one of Boon’s cryptic teases, this time using a lineup from an earlier Mortal Kombat game, is shared on his Twitter account. It reveals characters including Liu Kang, Shang Tsung, Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Kung Lao, Princess Kitana, and Mileena who have previously been seen in the most recent trailer. Additionally, it has been known for some time that Johnny Cage will return in his Jean-Claude Van Damme-inspired alternative skin.
In addition to the characters already listed, the old-school cast also includes Jax, Reptile, Reiko, Jarek, Kano, Quan Chi, Shinnok, and a number of others. This is actually a roster from the original Mortal Kombat 4, and these are the fighters that were accessible at the time.
Return of One Mortal Kombat 4 Character
The caption of the photo by Boon, which reads “Some making their way back into action..” and includes the dragon emoji, has the clue. It verifies the reappearance of the dragon-related character in Mortal Kombat 1. Since he resembles a reptile like a dragon, some people believe it to be Reptile. Others believe it to be Reiko, the devoted general of Shao Khan who was previously thought to be the dictator of the Outworld reincarnated. Jarek, a member of the Black Dragon clan, is the third prediction, which also indicates that Kano is returning.
On September 19, 2023, Mortal Kombat 1 will be made available for PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch.
