After a long wait, Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered is finally getting a standalone launch.
Previously only available as part of the Marvel’s Spider-Man Miles Morales Ultimate Edition, the remastered version will be available for purchase on the PlayStation Store for $49.99 later this month. For players who already own a physical or digital copy of the original game on PS4, they can upgrade to the Remastered version on PS5 for $10, but it’s not available for free.
Unfortunately, there is another issue to note. PS Plus members who have obtained any edition of the game through the PS Plus subscription service will not be able to upgrade it to the PS5 version. Players must have originally purchased the game to be eligible for the upgrade, and it will not be free.
In addition to the standalone launch of Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered, Insomniac Games has announced a prequel comic for Spider-Man 2. The comic will be released for free on May 6, 2023, as part of the Free Comic Book Day celebration. The comic will give readers a glimpse into the lives of Peter Parker, Miles Morales, and Mary Jane Watson before the events of Spider-Man 2, and what they are up to.
